No. 3 Penei Sewell
Our No. 3 overall draft project comes up front in the trenches. Penei Sewell, the most dominant offensive lineman in the country this year will provide much needed support up front for Joe Burrow who was hurt after a strong start to his rookie campaign a year ago, after taking a big hit in the pocket. Sewell opted out of the 2020 because of the COVID19 pandemic, and just like other top prospects this will not alter his draft stock at all. Penei Sewell is a skilled, and dominant lineman, that is listed at left-tackle, but could move to the right side to put his ability to the test.
According to former NFL and college coach Jim Mora, Sewell is a potential hall of famer. He also thinks the Jet’s should draft Sewell with the No. 2 overall pick. If NY still has faith in Sam Darnold, who was a first round pick back in 2018, Penei Sewell could see himself teaming up with Darnold, and last year’s top oline target, Mekhi Becton, creating a dominant young line to build behind.
