At cfHotspot we love a good list, and that’s just what you are going to get with our cfSports Top Draft prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft. Don’t let our top prospect list confuse you from our mock draft, which are two completely different list. The top overall prospects aren’t always picked in that order. The draft is about team need, strategy, and position, and the best guy doesn’t always go first.
What that being said, this is a list of the straight dogs in the draft, and that list starts down in Gainesville, with The Florida Gators top draft prospect in some time, Kyle Pitts.
No. 1 Kyle Pitts
No, Kyle Pitts will not get picked #1, but Kyle Pitts is the #1 Overall Draft Prospect in this year’s class. The top 5 teams have more important holes to fill like finding their franchise quarterback, and getting better up front, but with Pitts size, speed, and catching skills, he is projected to be a force in the league for years to come.
Pitts is listed at Tight End, but if you said he was a wide receiver I would have believed it. At 6 foot 6, and compared to the all pro tight end Darren Waller, Pitts could easily go top 5 if someone traded up without a QB need. Kyle Pitts has the ability to create ridiculous mismatches depending where he lands.
Pitts put up 12 touchdowns, on 43 catches, and 770 in the 2020 season. Pitts has put up some crazy stats compared to tight ends all time. The best yards per catch percentage of any college TE all time with 40+ receptions, the second best touchdown rate (27.9%) among all college tight ends ever with 40+ receptions, and the third best yards per route run (4.91 yards) vs. man coverage in 2020, this was 2 yards per route more than any other tight end.
